Food defines our behaviour

Emilie Baltz, is a French-American designer, photographer and artist. She was a speaker at the PSFK CONFERENCE 2013. Her L.O.V.E Foodbook explores the definition of food and its relation with emotion. She interviewed renowned chefs from around the world and asked them to create bespoke emotional recipes inspired by love. The dishes are photographed in detail and to complement them, there’s texts explaining the inspiration behind the recipes and illustrations of the whole process.

‘(…) food is not simply an expression of a single ingredient, but rather a multiplicity of ecosystems coming together encompassing history, feelings, psychology and physicality. In order to explore these concepts, Baltz utilized her design skill set to expand the vocabulary of food in a visual storybook.’ you can read in PSFK website.

Baltz believes that the way people eat determines their behaviour, her talk focused on food as aphrodisiac. Watch bellow.
